AEW President Tony Khan just dropped a surprise announcement for fans in the UK — AEW Dark is officially coming back for one night only, and it’s happening tonight.
Before AEW Collision kicked off in Cardiff, Khan appeared in front of the live crowd and revealed that the fan-favorite show, which was canceled in 2023, will return for a special holiday-themed episode at the end of the night.
“Because I love Cardiff so much, I went to the great executives of Warner Bros. Discovery and I said to them, ‘Please, it’s the holiday season. For one night only, because there are hardcore AEW fans in Cardiff, I want to bring back — for one night only — AEW Dark.’”
Khan said the request was approved by Warner Bros. Discovery, giving AEW the green light to bring the YouTube-exclusive show back for a special appearance.
“And you know what they said? They said YES! So some of the biggest stars in pro wrestling will come out at the very end of the night, and we’ll finish the night with a one-night-only holiday episode of AEW Dark tonight in Cardiff.”
While tonight’s revival is just a one-off for now, it’s a nostalgic moment for longtime AEW fans who supported Dark as a platform for new stars and hidden gems in the pro wrestling company.
AEW Dark helped build a loyal following during its run, and tonight’s special holiday episode in Cardiff is a throwback to that era—one that fans in the building won’t forget anytime soon.
