Tony Khan is pointing to big numbers after AEW’s Worlds End 2025—and he says the stats prove it was a major success.

During a recent interview with Adrian Hernandez of Unlikely, the AEW President claimed that Worlds End set a new company record for HBO Max viewership. According to Khan, the pay-per-view outperformed every previous AEW event on the streaming platform.

“I would be remiss if I didn’t bring this up—AEW Worlds End, we’ve been told by HBO, is the most buys yet for any AEW pay-per-view on HBO Max,” Khan said.

Khan framed the milestone as a sign that AEW continues to grow at the start of the new year.

“We’re continuing to grow. This is probably going to end up being one of the biggest Worlds End events ever, and so far, it’s our biggest pay-per-view yet on HBO Max. So, that’s even more momentum.”

Worlds End 2025 took place in Chicago and featured top AEW stars such as Jon Moxley, MJF, Mercedes Moné, Darby Allin, Kazuchika Okada, Kris Statlander, and Adam Page, among others. The show served as AEW’s final major event of the year and delivered a strong card that helped close 2025 on a high note for the promotion.

While HBO has not independently confirmed the numbers, Khan’s statement positions the event as a streaming breakthrough for the company—and one he clearly wants to ride into 2026 with confidence.

Whether Worlds End truly broke AEW’s streaming records or not, the claim alone shows Khan is doubling down on AEW’s momentum heading into the new year.
