Tony Khan has been working to secure a television deal for ROH for a while now. However, it seems he’s changed his stance on it as he feels it just doesn’t make sense at the moment.
While speaking during the ROH Death Before Dishonor media call, Tony Khan was asked about the future of ROH as a TV product and whether it will eventually secure a deal.
Khan explained that while there have been offers, the timing and terms do not make sense right now. Khan stated that any agreement would need to fit into the bigger picture, even if it is not on the same financial level as AEW’s deal with Warner Bros. Discovery.
The AEW President made it clear that nothing is imminent, but added that his hope is for an ROH deal to eventually come together within the framework of the AEW/WBD partnership.
This comes after Tony Khan previously stated that he believed there is a lot of interest in ROH and has had great conversations about TV partnerships. Regardless, only time will tell whether ROH will get a television deal, as it definitely doesn’t seem like a priority right now.
Do you think ROH needs a TV deal right now to survive, or is Honor Club enough until the right partnership comes along? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
