Tony Khan says All Elite Wrestling is continuing to grow by blending its original stars with a new wave of talent, and he believes the promotion’s roster is stronger than ever because of it.

During a recent appearance on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Khan spoke about how AEW balances longtime fan favorites with new arrivals while continuing to build the future of the company. According to Khan, the mix of established AEW names and incoming talent keeps the promotion fresh for viewers.

“Well, I think that the show itself embodies that, right? Because you watch the show and it's the best of everything for everybody. You have the original stars from the beginning of AEW that bring so much to the show and have been with us from the very beginning. Great wrestlers like Jon Moxley, Hangman Page, MJF, Orange Cassidy, Darby Allin, Chris Statlander, and great wrestlers that have been with AEW since day one.”

Khan pointed out that the roster has continued expanding as new names arrive while others develop into top stars. He mentioned talent who joined the promotion over the years, including major names who came in after AEW’s launch.

“And then you have people that have come in along the way, whether it was a few years ago adding great stars like Timeless Toni Storm and Swerve Strickland and Samoa Joe. And you have a legend like that and bringing in greats like Samoa Joe and Bryan Danielson, some of the greatest world champions ever, and then helping wrestlers find a place and develop themselves and become the best version of themselves.”

Khan then explained that the roster expansion has accelerated recently, with AEW bringing in more wrestlers over the past year than at any other time since the promotion launched.

“And then you have great wrestlers that have just come in in the past year, a whole new crop. So I think the wrestling league is always evolving and you can always jump in, but it's an exciting time. We've added more new wrestlers to AEW in the past year than in the several years before, building for the future.”

Khan also pointed to a new generation of wrestlers gaining momentum within the company while continuing to grow their presence on television. He went on to reference one of the promotion’s biggest recent recruiting pushes, which brought several internationally known wrestlers to AEW.

“And think about all the great young wrestlers you see, whether it's Kevin Knight and Speedball Mike Bailey, new stars, and Tekla, the women’s champion, a great new star that's come in just in the past year and taken AEW by storm.”

“Huge free agents that have arrived in AEW. Big stars, a new crop that came a few years ago. That was my big triangle of free agents… I had a big winter of three stars when I brought in Kazuchika Okada, Mercedes Moné, and Will Ospreay.”

With AEW continuing to expand its roster while developing younger talent, Khan clearly sees the promotion as a constantly changing product designed to keep both longtime fans and newer viewers engaged.
