Tony Khan has finally broken his silence on AEW’s future in gaming—and while he stopped short of confirming a new project, the door is definitely open.
Speaking on the Battleground podcast on February 4, 2026, Khan was directly asked if AEW was working on a follow-up to AEW Fight Forever, which launched to mixed reactions in 2023. He confirmed that more games are on his radar.
“Well, at some point I would like to have more games. We’ve released games on different platforms, including mobile games. And I think there are absolutely going to be more opportunities.”
However, the AEW President also made it clear that his immediate focus remains on AEW’s core product—wrestling and not video games at all.
“For now, though, I try to focus as much as possible on the wrestling. It’s a wrestling show. We put on wrestling shows, live events, and TV every week.”
Khan’s comments come months after Insider Gaming’s Mike Straw reported in July 2025 that talks about new AEW games had resumed. At the time, Straw noted that AEW had learned from the long and rocky road to releasing Fight Forever, and that future games would be kept quiet until much closer to launch.
“Talks have picked up more on the AEW games front. What they won’t do, however, is announce anything too early this time. They know that was a mistake. When a new game/update comes, it will be closer to its planned release.”
There’s also been internal discussion about changing development partners, as AEW is reportedly planning to part ways with Yuke’s for any upcoming projects. So, while no new game has been officially announced, Khan’s remarks are the clearest sign yet that AEW still sees potential in the gaming world—it just won’t rush into it this time.
