Tony D’Angelo Pulls Off Savage Attack After #1 Contender Qualifier During January 20 NXT

The January 20 episode of NXT carried on the story that centered around the NXT Title. Once Oba Femi left the ring with the title in the middle of it after beating Leon Slater, everyone’s been wondering what the company will do.

A tournament of matches was put in place to decide who would get into a six-man ladder match. The winner of that match will become the new champion.

Josh Briggs and Shiloh Hill squared off in a WWE NXT Championship No. 1 Contender’s Ladder Match qualifier. In the end, after a hard-fought match, Josh Briggs lost to the LFG season two winner.

After the match, Shiloh Hill didn’t have much time to celebrate. Instead of going smoothly to the next segment, Tony D’Angelo struck as he attacked Hill in brutal fashion. Then he took out Josh Briggs while he was at it. The now-bearded mob boss beat Shiloh Hill down a lot, and he sent a clear message.

Tony D’Angelo returned to the fold in NXT in early December, and he’s been in an interesting direction since then. Only time will tell what’s next, but he may want a piece of that six-man ladder match for the NXT Title.
