Toni Storm’s absence from AEW television keeps raising questions, and Tony Khan just confirmed that she was supposed to be part of AEW Dynasty before plans suddenly changed.
Storm was written off TV weeks ago during an angle where she was attacked backstage and ruled out of in-ring competition. Since then, reports have suggested AEW isn’t expecting her to wrestle again for the rest of 2026, adding more mystery to the situation. Now, Khan has addressed Storm directly.
During the AEW Dynasty post-show media scrum, Khan spoke about changes that were made to the pay-per-view card and confirmed that Storm had originally been scheduled to wrestle on the show before everything shifted. While discussing last-minute adjustments to Dynasty, Khan made it clear that both Toni Storm and Kyle Fletcher were expected to play major roles.
“’ Toni Storm and I made many changes to this pay-per-view over the last few weeks. They were to both been a big part of it and they’re both a huge part of AEW. Any time I can have Kyle Fletcher or Toni Storm involved in an AEW event, it’s very important. So, coming out of Revolution I expected them each to be in matches on the show.”
That statement confirms Storm’s removal wasn’t part of the original plan. Instead, she was expected to compete at Dynasty before AEW had to make major adjustments to the lineup.
Storm had already been written off television through a mystery attacker storyline, which saw her pulled from competition and replaced in key matches. With reports suggesting she may be out for the rest of the year, Khan’s comments now add another layer to what already looks like a complicated situation.
Between the sudden storyline removal, the uncertainty around her status, and now confirmation that she was originally planned for Dynasty, Storm’s absence continues to stand out as one of AEW’s biggest unanswered questions right now.
