Tommaso Ciampa is officially part of the AEW roster—and he didn’t waste any time making an impact.

After debuting on AEW Dynamite earlier in the week, Ciampa competed in his first AEW match on the January 31 episode of AEW Collision, taking on Mark Briscoe for the TNT Championship.

The match was a brutal back-and-forth battle, with Briscoe refusing to go down despite eating multiple Psycho Drillers. Ciampa kept the pressure on, finally securing the win with a German Suplex into a running knee strike that put Briscoe away for good. With that victory, Ciampa captured the TNT Title in his AEW in-ring debut—something only Mercedes Moné has also done.

Fans in the arena erupted with chants of support, clearly on board with Ciampa’s arrival and instant elevation. AEW commentary recognized the historic nature of the win, noting how rare it is for a debuting star to leave with gold.

But the celebration didn’t last long. Kyle Fletcher made his way out after the match and confronted the new champion, silently making it known that he’s coming for the TNT Title next.

With Ciampa now holding gold and a new challenger already in front of him, the AEW midcard just got a serious shakeup.

Is Tommaso Ciampa the TNT Champion AEW needs right now—or will Kyle Fletcher be the one to derail this run before it gets going? Let us know what you think in the comments.
