Tommaso Ciampa surprised fans when he brutally attacked Mark Briscoe on the March 7 episode of AEW Collision — and now he’s finally explaining why he did it.

Following his shocking attack on Mark Briscoe during the March 7 episode of AEW Collision, Ciampa took to Twitter and uploaded a video explaining exactly why he snapped. The former NXT Champion didn’t hold back, blasting Briscoe and declaring that he’s finished playing nice. Ciampa opened the video by venting frustration about how the situation unfolded, especially with Briscoe appearing during his match night.

“I’m already sick of it. Why, Mark? What about me? Tonight was my chance. How do I get a rematch for my TNT Title after a loss? And why the hell was he out there in the first place? That’s a rhetorical question — do not answer that, and don’t say commentary. We already have commentators.”

The AEW star then took direct aim at Briscoe’s recent opportunities at the TNT Title, arguing that Briscoe had already been given plenty of chances. Ciampa also admitted that much of his frustration comes from feeling like he has been forced to play a role he never truly believed in.

“Mark, you had your chance. Matter of fact, you had seven chances and you lost. It’s time for you to move on. It’s time for you to go away. And if you can’t figure out how to do that on your own, allow me to help you go away. I’m tired. Exhausted. Tired of pretending since day one — smile more, say the right things. ‘Mark Briscoe, class act, nothing but love and respect.’ Wrong. Wrong. Lies.”

In the video, Ciampa leaned fully into the darker side of his personality, saying he’s done trying to maintain the image people expect from him. He then made his biggest claim yet — declaring himself the best wrestler alive and warning the entire locker room that things are about to change.

“It feels good to say that, because I guess I’m a villain at heart and now it’s okay. I’m okay with that. What feels good is no longer pretending. What doesn’t feel good is the disrespect. I’m sick of it, because I’m the best damn wrestler alive and nobody — not a soul — gives me the respect that I deserve. So you want to get real? Yeah, we can get real. Let’s get real. Things are about to get real. Everybody’s on notice. March 7, 2026 — the Psycho Killer is alive.”

The statement comes just hours after Ciampa turned on Briscoe during Collision, smashing him into the stage video screen and finishing the attack with a running knee while FTR watched from ringside. With Ciampa now fully a heel and declaring war on anyone who questions him, the fallout from his attack on Briscoe could be just the beginning.
