Tommaso Ciampa’s time with WWE may be coming to a close.

According to Bodyslam.net, Ciampa is finishing up his run with WWE and is not currently expected to renew his contract. The report states that Ciampa is “finishing his time up with the company without a renewal,” though it remains unclear whether he plans to sign elsewhere or take a break from wrestling altogether.

Ciampa’s last appearance came on the December 19, 2025 episode of SmackDown, where he and longtime tag partner Johnny Gargano (as DIY) lost to Ilja Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes. Since then, Gargano has continued to appear on WWE TV alongside Candice LeRae, while Ciampa has been notably absent.

Tommaso Ciampa first joined WWE in 2015 and quickly became one of the cornerstones of the NXT brand. His intense feud and eventual tag team reunion with Johnny Gargano as DIY helped define a golden era of NXT. Ciampa captured the NXT Championship in 2018 and held it for 238 days before being forced to relinquish the title due to a serious neck injury. Despite multiple setbacks, he returned to action and remained a fan favorite in both singles and tag team competition. His gritty persona, compelling promos, and brutal in-ring style helped cement his legacy as one of NXT’s most important figures.
