Tommaso Ciampa is officially out of WWE—and the company just confirmed it publicly.

On January 27, 2026, WWE quietly moved Ciampa to the Alumni section of its official roster page, confirming that his time with the company is officially over. While Ciampa had already revealed his departure earlier this month, the update on WWE.com leaves no doubt: he’s done.

The move comes just after Ciampa began aggressively launching his post-WWE identity, kicking off with a fresh batch of merchandise on his Pro Wrestling Tees store. He dropped five new T-shirt designs and a hoodie under the names “Psycho Killer” and “Psycho Kid,” showing a clear brand direction for his next chapter.

This branding appears to be no coincidence. On January 21, Ciampa filed trademarks for “Psycho Killer” and “Psycho King”, suggesting these names will define his new persona moving forward in and out of the ring.

The “Psycho Killer” moniker isn’t new to longtime Ciampa followers—it traces back to his indie roots—but the timing of the merch drop, trademarks, and roster removal all point to a carefully planned exit and reset.

When announcing his departure, the 40-year-old veteran thanked WWE and made it clear that he’s far from done in pro wrestling. Ciampa also declared he has another decade left in the ring, and opened himself up to bookings across the board: appearances, signings, seminars, media, and more.

As for where he might land next, speculation continues. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted:

“There is talk of him trying to get into New Japan. He’d fit in style wise with AEW but AEW has such a large roster filled with top talent so it’s a tough place to break through. The fact he’s pushing indie bookings would seem to indicate he didn’t leave for AEW and a deal there, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see such a deal happen given Tony Khan signing so many people and he’s a strong in-ring wrestler.”

From the outside, Ciampa is treating this departure less like an exit and more like a reboot—and now, with his WWE chapter officially closed, all eyes are on what comes next.
