TNA Wrestling isn’t going to directly compete with AEW Dynamite.

Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that TNA sources have claimed that higher ups say they’re not expecting to move to Wednesdays. This addresses an idea that the company may move off their Thursday night home.

It was previously reported that TNA Wrestling was in talks with A&E and The CW as possible new broadcast partners. WWE is said to be part of the discussions due to its working relationship with TNA. This falls in line with WWE and TNA’s ongoing relationship.

A schedule change was also reportedly being considered, with Wednesday as the best option for WWE’s interests. After all, it would compete with AEW Dynamite. Sunday was also mentioned as a possible fit for A&E to lead into WWE’s reality show LFG. It appears that Wednesday is now off the table.

TNA President Carlos Silva recently also said the company was close to a deal with a bigger platform and expected an announcement within 60 to 90 days. With A&E and The CW now in the mix, the decision on TNA’s next broadcast home remains uncertain.

“We want to find a bigger platform. We’ve got CAA helping us. We’re actively in the middle of it—if I could get a few things done, I’d love to tell you. Yes, we are close. We’ve been working on it since the beginning of the year, really since I joined. It’s really accelerated over the last 60 days, so we’re working through it.”

TNA Wrestling has been going on Thursday nights for a long time now. Although their current television platform, AXS, isn’t available for everyone, they do offer shows on other places. That being said, their show isn’t going to make a move to Wednesdays.

At this point, AEW has pretty much locked Wednesdays down. There are other things on television, because everything is competition, as EVOLVE also airs on Tubi that same night. However, Wednesday is not going to see TNA on the channel guide.

We will have to see what TNA Wrestling has in their future. The company is continually impressing with their pay-per-view offerings, and their roster is operating at peak caliber. Their partnership with NXT is also benefiting them in terms of exposure. Obviously, TNA Wrestling is going to keep doing their own thing, wherever that takes them.
