TNA Wrestling is closer than ever to landing the major TV rights deal that could completely shift its future.
The company has been chasing a $10 million-per-year media agreement, and now, Anthem Sports Group President Carlos Silva says they’re in the final stages of making it happen. Speaking on the Battleground Podcast on October 2, Silva didn’t hold back on where things stand.
“What I can tell you is that we’re closer. What I can tell you is that we’re no longer just talking. What I can tell you is that we’re now in the middle of the deal.”
Negotiations aren’t just theoretical anymore — they’re real, detailed, and happening in real time.
“The good news is that the process has started. We’re working through the details. And I feel really good about it. I’m very excited about the partner. I think they’re excited about us — that’s why it feels good.”
The delay isn’t due to a lack of momentum. It’s about hammering out the finer points and formalities.
“We’ve just got to get through the paperwork, understand sort of final deal terms, and certain things where there’s going to be a little push and pull from both sides. But as recently as yesterday when we were exchanging things back and forth, we’re in that process.”
The planned deal would allow TNA Impact! to go live 52 weeks a year, a huge leap from its current production format. And that kind of shift, Silva believes, is key to survival in today’s wrestling landscape.
“A new media rights deal would provide us the opportunity to go live 52 weeks a year, and in today’s world live matters.”
Silva thinks a bigger platform would open the door to exponentially higher ratings. TNA currently pulls around 100,000 viewers when it airs live — but Silva sees more on the horizon.
“A weekly number between 250,000–500,000, in terms of Nielsen-esque P2+ households, is perfectly realistic on a network in 40 or 50 million homes.”
And it’s not just about the numbers — it’s about the timeline. Silva confirmed the deal must close this year.
“Yeah, we have to actually — because the deal that we’re contemplating starts in 2026.”
“So, you know, being October 1st, the timing is great. We can get some things done, dot the I’s, cross the T’s, and then really put our efforts around marketing and packaging so that we launch ourselves into 2026.”
This all lines up with Silva’s previous comments to JohnWallStreet.com, where he revealed they’re in talks with both “established linear guys and a couple of newer platforms that need a foundational [programming] centerpiece.” TNA’s rising partnership with WWE has only helped the cause. With Jordynne Grace crossing into NXT, Joe Hendry showing up at WWE events, and constant TNA references on WWE programming, the company’s visibility has skyrocketed.
“We are [regularly] being featured on every major WWE and NXT platform — PLEs as well as weekly programming on The CW and their other [broadcast] outlets like Peacock.”
And that attention has fueled even bigger rumors — including speculation that WWE could eventually acquire TNA outright. For now, all eyes are on Silva and Anthem to deliver the deal that could finally take TNA mainstream.
