The TNA Sacrifice main event didn’t get the finish fans were expecting, as the TNA World Title match between Mike Santana and Steve Maclin ended in chaos and was ruled a no contest.
Santana and Maclin came out swinging right away, trading heavy shots and setting the tone for a physical title fight. Things changed quickly when Santana landed a hard superkick that rocked Maclin and forced the referee to stop the match so medical staff could check on him.
Officials rushed in to look at Maclin, and after several tense moments, he was helped out of the ring toward the back. The stoppage left the crowd confused as it became clear the match wasn’t going to continue as planned.
Before things could settle down, Eddie Edwards stormed into the ring and attacked Santana, turning the situation into a full-on brawl instead of a championship match. The fight spilled to the outside, where Santana grabbed a table and went after Edwards.
Santana eventually placed Edwards on the table and climbed to the top rope before crashing down with a splash that drove Edwards through the table on the floor. With Maclin already out of the match and Edwards laid out, officials stepped in and called the bout.
The match was officially ruled a no contest, bringing an abrupt ending to the night’s biggest fight and leaving the TNA World Title picture wide open.
Now the big question is what happens next, especially with Maclin taken out, Santana still standing, and Edwards throwing himself into the situation at the worst possible time.
Do you think this no contest finish sets up a bigger match down the line, or should TNA have handled the main event differently? Let us know your thoughts and share your feedback.
