TNA brought the chaos to Irvine, California last night with a wild night of action that went well beyond the live broadcast. The May 1 taping featured huge developments heading into the Under Siege pay-per-view—complete with blood, ladders, and a birthday song that somehow led to a tag match.
The night kicked off with Matt Cardona picking up a win in a triple threat match against Ace Austin and Elijah. Later, Harley Hudson and Myla Grace wrestled to a ten-minute time-limit draw in what was described backstage as a strong showing for both Knockouts.
After the show went off the air, fans were treated to an extra segment featuring none other than Matt and Jeff Hardy. The Hardys hit the ring to announce their plans to reclaim the TNA Tag Team Titles. But before things got too sentimental, The Nemeths (Ryan and Nic) stormed out and challenged the legendary brothers to a ladder match at Under Siege—until Ryan suddenly remembered Jeff Hardy “can’t get into Canada,” which completely killed the challenge.
That’s when Santino Marella appeared and made a new plan: “It’s gonna be Ryan Nemeth vs. Jeff Hardy and Nic Nemeth vs. Matt Hardy instead!” So the tag war is still on, just not the way fans expected.
Later in the taping, Eric Young and Steve Maclin tore each other apart in a brutal Dog Collar match. Maclin came out on top in a bout that left both men bleeding heavily, with fans chanting for more violence by the end.
To close out the taping, Elijah grabbed a mic and sang “Happy Birthday” to Joe Hendry in the ring. That heartfelt moment somehow led to a brand-new tag match for Under Siege: Elijah and Hendry will now team up to face Frankie Kazarian and Trick Williams.
TNA’s going all-in with wild storytelling, throwback stipulations, and personal grudges heading into their next big event.
