Ever since TNA and WWE started their partnership, fans have been wondering whether AJ Styles would ever come back to TNA. While speculation continues, it appears a TNA Executive is open to having Styles back.
While speaking to Rewind Recap Relive, TNA President Carlos Silva was asked about the possibility of AJ Styles returning to TNA. He said that there was a little hint of that recently. He pointed to the opening video package from when Trick Williams defended the title at NXT Battleground in Tampa, which featured a great segment showing the history of TNA.
Silva noted that WWE put that together and AJ Styles actually did the voiceover for it. Carlos thought that was a really cool and authentic way to present that two-minute vignette on air.
The TNA President said they’d love for things like that to keep happening, whether it’s with AJ Styles or others and that it’s all part of how they’re working through the partnership with WWE. So far, he feels it’s been going well and expects it to continue.
“You know, look, maybe we got a little nibble there. If you saw the open when Trick defended the belt down in Tampa — I think it was Battleground for NXT — they did an amazing open. You know, our partners at WWE did an amazing open with the history of TNA and where it’s been, and AJ voiced that piece for us, which I thought was like a really cool, like, authentic way to present that two-minute vignette on air. And it was really great. Uh, look, we’d love for those types of things to happen. You know, whether it’s AJ or others, I think that’s all part of how we work through the partnership with them. And, you know, so far so good. I think it’ll continue.”
AJ Styles previously made an appearance backstage at TNA Final Resolution last year. So, we’ll have to wait and see whether the Phenomenal One will make his return to TNA Wrestling eventually as fans would love to see that happen.
