Tiffany Stratton has seen a great deal of success on the main roster since she became the WWE Women’s Champion. However, she still gets her fair share of critics and now she’s explained why they don’t matter.
While speaking on the Babyfaces podcast, Tiffany Stratton was asked how she separates constructive criticism from noise and whether backlash gets to her head.
Stratton explained that when she was first called up, people were supportive but as she moved into a top role, some fans began to turn on her. Over time, she has learned to avoid letting negativity affect her by staying off social media and only scrolling TikTok. She credited her strong support system of friends and family, who always reassure her when doubts creep in.
For Stratton, it comes down to knowing her worth. She believes that if you accept the good, you also have to accept the bad, which means taking criticism at times and applying it in a constructive way. Even then, staying away from social platforms has been key in protecting her mental health.
“So, I definitely would say when I first got called up, people were nice to me. But then as you kind of get pushed, as you kind of get put into that top role, people turn on you a little bit.
For me, I’ve gotten very good at not even checking social media anymore. I just scroll on TikTok. I’ve got such a good support system—my friends and family are amazing to me, and they always reassure me if I start having doubts within myself.
Ultimately, it’s about knowing your worth. If you believe the good, you have to believe the bad. So you have to take criticism sometimes, apply it, and just be self-aware. But for the most part, staying off social media has really saved my mental health.”
Stratton added that online hate doesn’t bother her because those people would never be in her position, let alone a WWE Women’s Champion. For that reason, she doesn’t see value in taking advice or criticism from people she wouldn’t trade places with.
“Honestly, people talking about me on the internet in a bad way—I think it’s kind of silly. Those people would never be in my position. They’d never be the WWE Women’s Champion. So why would I take criticism or advice from somebody I wouldn’t even switch places with? That’s my take on it.”
Tiffany Stratton has grown as a champion in and out of the ring. She ignores the hate and stays focused on her career, proving she belongs at the top of WWE’s women’s division. Love her or hate her, Stratton isn’t going anywhere and critics definitely won’t stop her.
