Thekla isn’t here to be your bedroom circus act—and she made that very clear in her wild appearance on Hey! (EW) with RJ City.

During the final stretch of the interview, RJ brought up Thekla’s signature bridge spot—where she twists her body backward like a spider, often creeping toward opponents in matches. While initially poking fun at how unnatural it looks, RJ turned serious for a moment and questioned whether it might affect her body long-term. After joking that she was “worried about [her] hips,” Thekla clapped back.

“That’s disgusting. You should not be worried. You have no business being concerned about my body.”

Trying to backpedal, RJ then asked if her extreme flexibility could take a toll on her physically, which led Thekla to reveal the root of her movement style:

“It’s a medical condition, actually. I’ve got hyperflexibility.”

RJ, half-amused, responded by calling it a “commercialized” condition. Thekla didn’t disagree.

“Yes. I’m smart. I have an MFA. In flexibility.”

Then came the most uncomfortable moment—RJ shifted from medical concerns to personal ones, asking whether Thekla’s flexibility ever created awkward pressure in her personal life. Specifically, he asked if sexual partners ever requested she perform her spider-like moves in bed.

“Do you ever feel the pressure to do it sexually? The flexibility, the bridging and stuff? Like when you get in the bedroom and they’re like, ‘Hey, do your freaky spider.’ Are you like, ‘Please just let me starfish.’”

Without hesitation, Thekla confirmed that, yes, those awkward moments have happened:

“I’ve had requests.”

But when pressed on whether she went along with any of them, Thekla shut it all the way down with one brutal line:

“I’m not a f*cking monkey. I’m a spider, b*tch.”

Whether it’s in the ring or shutting down weirdos outside of it, Thekla isn’t here to perform on command. She made it crystal clear—her flexibility is her art, not your fetish. And if you’re thinking of hitting her with some creepy request, be ready for that same brutal energy she brings between the ropes.
