AEW Fyter Fest just got a whole lot more chaotic, and Claudio Castagnoli and Mascara Dorada are right in the middle of it.
On the May 31 episode of AEW Collision, Claudio Castagnoli punched his ticket to the International Title match after defeating Komander in a hard-hitting one-on-one bout. Later in the same show, Mascara Dorada followed suit, locking in his spot by taking down Hechicero.
Both men now join Brody King—who qualified by beating Josh Alexander on AEW Dynamite—and AEW International Champion Kenny Omega in what’s now a four-way title bout at AEW Fyter Fest.
The title match isn’t the only wild thing lined up for June 4. AEW’s Fyter Fest special will air for four hours on TBS and is packed from top to bottom.
Jon Moxley is set to take on Mark Briscoe in a personal showdown after choking him out in a trios match on Dynamite. Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa will team up against Skye Blue and Julia Hart, with Mercedes Mone on commentary after she got involved last week to save Shirakawa from a post-match beatdown.
FTR issued an open challenge to any lucha team and got their wish—Atlantis Jr and Templario answered on Collision, setting up a tag match that’s now locked in for Fyter Fest.
Also announced, Thekla will make her in-ring debut after attacking Jamie Hayter during Dynamite. The hard-hitting trio of RUSH, Dralistico, and The Beast Mortos from La Faccion Ingobernable will go head-to-head with Kevin Knight, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, and Komander in what promises to be a fast-paced war.
And yes—The Hurt Syndicate is showing up. Bobby Lashley, MJF, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin will be in the house and are scheduled to speak. What they’ll say—or who they’ll target—remains to be seen.
With this card stacked and the International Title match now a four-way collision, Fyter Fest is shaping up to deliver some serious drama.
