Tessa Blanchard made her shocking return during TNA’s Final Resolution pay-per-view last year, something that didn’t necessarily sit well with people. Even then, many wondered how Blanchard even managed to strike a deal with TNA and now she has revealed how her TNA return came together.
While speaking to Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Tessa Blanchard was asked how her TNA Wrestling return came together. Blanchard stated that she was happy in CMLL and didn’t want to leave. She still wishes she could have stayed and would go back if she had the chance because she loves it. However, she also had personal goals and a set time for how long she wanted to wrestle. Blanchard added that she hopes to have a family one day, so she had to think about her future and what was best for her.
Blanchard felt it was the right time to listen to offers and return to the United States to wrestle on American TV again. Everything happened very fast, coming together just a week or two before she showed up. Even though it was a quick decision, she believed it was the right one. After working hard for over 11 years, she knew she had to overcome her fears, take a chance, and go after the success she felt she deserved.
“I was happy in CMLL and didn’t want to leave. I still wish I didn’t have to leave. If I could go back there and wrestle, I’d do it in a heartbeat because I love it.
Just for my goals and what I want with my life, I’ve got a good, hard number for when I don’t want to be a wrestler past. I’d like to have a family one day, and putting all of these priorities for my future into perspective, I thought it was about time to listen to the talks again, go back to the United States, and try American television again.
Before I showed up, it all came together within a week or two—it was very fast. Everything came together very, very fast. I felt like it was about time. If I want success in wrestling the way I think I deserve and the way I’ve worked for over the past 11 years, it was time to jump in the deep end, set my fears aside, and really go for it.”
Tessa Blanchard also revealed that she was in talks with TNA for a potential return at Hard to Kill last year but it didn’t happen. Regardless, Blanchard is now fully back in the fold and will face Jordynne Grace at TNA Genesis on January 19th, so fans are looking forward to seeing how Blanchard will perform in the match.
