Tessa Blanchard made her unexpected return during TNA’s Final Resolution pay-per-view and took out Jordynne Grace, making it clear she is going after a big name. Many people weren’t happy about her return and now Blanchard claimed that Grace wouldn’t have become the star that she is, had Blanchard not left TNA.
While speaking to The Battleground podcast, Tessa Blanchard explained her decision to return to TNA Wrestling, saying that her current life and future goals played a big role. She has been living in Mexico City and working with CMLL for the past year while also focusing on her education, as she recently returned to college. Having previously spent three years in the ROTC, she reflected on her goals and decided that coming back to the United States to chase her dreams made sense.
Another major motivation for her return was watching Jordynne Grace’s success in TNA. Blanchard believes that if she had stayed with the company, Grace might not have reached the level of success she has today or become as big of a name. Returning to TNA and making a statement, with Grace being a big part of that statement, was a significant factor in her decision.
“I think what motivated my return is I’m living in Mexico City now, I’ve been working with CMLL the past year and looking at some of my life goals and the direction I want my life to go in, I’m back in college now, I went the ROTC for 3 years and looking at the direction and my goals in the future, it made sense for me to come back to the United States and chase those dreams.
Watching what Jordynne Grace has been doing has been a big motivator as well because if I would have stayed in the company, I don’t believe Jordynne Grace would’ve had the success that she had, I don’t believe she that she would have became the name she became. So, me coming back in TNA, me coming and making a statement and her being that statement, I think that was one of the big motivators.”
Tessa Blanchard will be squaring off against Jordynne Grace at TNA Genesis on January 19th, so we’ll have to wait and see if Blanchard will be able to beat Grace in her first TNA match since 2020, as fans feel Blanchard shouldn’t win this bout at all.
Do you think Tessa Blanchard’s return is good for TNA, or should the company have moved on? Will she be able to dethrone Jordynne Grace? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
