Tessa Blanchard has just revealed that she actually changed the outcome of a match just so that Britt Baker could win in front of her boyfriend at the time.
While speaking on her YouTube channel, Tessa Blanchard revealed that during her time on the independent circuit, like at Remix Pro, she had a match against Britt Baker. At the time, Britt’s boyfriend was there to see her wrestle for the very first time.
Wanting to make the moment special, Blanchard went to the promoter and asked to lose the match so Britt could win the title in front of him. They ended up changing the card that night. Tessa explained that she always wanted to be the kind of wrestler who could work with anyone and make them look great.
“But shoot, I remember some of my indie matches where, example, uh, Remix Pro. I remember me versus Britt Baker, and she—she had a boyfriend at the time, and I remember it was his first time seeing her wrestle. And I went to the promoter and I was like, ‘Please let me lose this match tonight. Let her win. It’s her boyfriend’s first time seeing her wrestle. I want her—I want her to win this title in front of him.’ And we changed the card that night. But I really wanted to be the wrestler that could have a match with anyone and make them shine.”
Moments like these show just how much heart goes into professional wrestling and fans might see Tessa Blanchard in a different light now that she’s revealed what she did for Britt Baker.
