Tessa Blanchard is back in the limelight again — but this time, it’s another wrestler questioning whether she’s truly changed.

During an appearance on the Monte and Pharaoh show, wrestler Chrissy Rivera was asked point-blank whether Blanchard deserves a second chance in wrestling. She didn’t hesitate, immediately shutting the idea down before even getting into the reasoning: “No.” That quick response wasn’t just for shock value — Rivera followed it up by explaining that, in her view, the issue isn’t mistakes, it’s whether those mistakes have actually been owned up to.

“Because I don’t think she’s sorry. I don’t think her apology is genuine. No accountability. I’m not saying I’m psychic, but I can read people, and I just feel like — yeah, we all mess up, we all make mistakes. Nobody’s perfect. I’m not perfect either. I’ve done my share of things.”

She then shifted into what she believes is the bigger problem, suggesting that Blanchard’s situation isn’t just about the past — it’s about a pattern that continues to follow her.

“But I just feel like she’s incredibly talented — she could be at the top of the world — but because of the things she’s said or the way she does business, it prevents her from getting there. It feels like she does something, then says she’s sorry, and then a couple of months later you hear about something else.”

To avoid any misunderstanding, Rivera made it clear she’s not speaking from a bad personal encounter. In fact, she went out of her way to explain that her own experience working with Blanchard was completely professional.

“I don’t think she’s a bad person. I don’t really know her. I worked with her very briefly in WSU, and everything was fine. I got along with her, I never had an issue personally.”

But even with that neutral experience, Rivera still believes there’s a gap between Blanchard’s ability and where she currently stands in her career — and she thinks maturity plays a big role in that: “But I think she has a lot of growing up to do, and that’s what’s holding her back.”

She didn’t question Blanchard’s talent at all. In fact, she made it clear that ability isn’t the issue — it’s everything around it. Rivera made sure to frame her comments as constructive rather than personal, saying she still wants to see Blanchard succeed — just not under the current circumstances.

“I’d like to see her rise to the top because she’s a phenomenal wrestler. She has it all — she’s good on the mic, she’s incredibly athletic, she has the look. There’s nothing she can’t do except handle business the right way. So I wish the best for her. I’m not saying anything negative like that, but I just feel like she’s not ready personally.”

Rivera’s comments more fuel to the ongoing conversation surrounding Blanchard, who has continued to face scrutiny over racism allegations and her attempts to move forward in the wrestling world. Bottom line — this wasn’t a rant, it was a direct assessment. Chrissy Rivera sees the potential, but she doesn’t believe the personal growth has caught up to it yet.

Do you think Chrissy Rivera is being honest about what’s holding Tessa Blanchard back, or is this just more criticism following her no matter what she does? Drop your thoughts below and leave your feedback.
