Taz is joined on today’s show by special guests Jim Ross and PWInsider’s Mike Johnson.

The three men discuss the changing landscape of professional wrestling, and the varying mentalities of professional wrestlers. Taz informs that when he was wrestling he was very paranoid about losing his spot but a lot of other talents were the same way. It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to that position, and he wasn’t going to let that slip away.

Johnson adds that wrestlers would always ask him how big the audiences were for the house shows, because they were paid based on the attendance. He can’t remember the last time he’s been asked that recently, as nobody seems to care about that anymore.

Taz says he wrestled in a more competitive environment, and this led to some performers taking risks in order to get themselves over to a higher level. That led to the birth of a lot of major stars, and arguably the most successful era in the history of professional wrestling. Ross is not a fan of comfort zones, and he believes a lot of today’s talents are quite content with their guaranteed contract and they’re afraid to ruffle any feathers.

Johnson also believes that WWE’s Performance Centre has changed a lot of things in the sense that young talents might feel like they’ve ‘made it’ just by being invited to the Performance Centre.
