Taz is officially back on AEW programming—but according to the man himself, he’s still not fully recovered just yet.

On January 22, 2026, a fan reached out to Taz on Twitter with a simple question: “Taz 100% healthy yet?” The AEW commentator and wrestling legend gave a brief but encouraging response: “Not yet but close…thank you for asking!”

The update comes just a day after Taz made his on-screen return to AEW Dynamite on January 21, rejoining the broadcast team alongside Tony Schiavone and Excalibur. It marked his first appearance since undergoing total shoulder replacement surgery back on October 15, 2025. Before the procedure, Taz informed fans on his Instagram story:

“I will be having total shoulder replacement surgery in a short time. Therefore I will be off AEW Dynamite for some time. See you soon.”

This was the second major surgery for Taz in recent years, following a total knee replacement in 2024 that also took him off the commentary desk temporarily.

Taz may not be at 100% just yet, but he’s close—and fans are just happy to hear his voice back on AEW commentary. With nearly three decades of experience and unmatched insight, “The Human Suplex Machine” continues to prove why he’s one of the most respected voices in the business.
