AEW might be keeping their women’s tag team titles hidden for now, but Tay Melo is ready the second they finally hit the scene.

During an interview with Denise Salcedo, Melo made it clear that both she and Anna Jay—the duo known as TayJay—are more than prepared to chase the gold, assuming AEW actually pulls the trigger on the long-rumored belts.

“I don’t know much, but I am so happy, I’ve been reading about the tag titles. So maybe it’s in the future, who knows?” Melo said, hinting at the possibility. “TayJay is here and we’re waiting for it. We have been working together since day one, so it’s a dream for us, you know? If it happens, we’re here and we’re coming for it.”

It’s been rumored for months that AEW quietly made a set of Women’s Tag Team Titles sometime last year, but so far, the company hasn’t officially introduced them or confirmed plans for a women’s tag team division. The titles are reportedly sitting on the shelf, collecting dust.

For TayJay, the delay hasn’t killed their excitement—they’ve been teaming since day one and view the titles as a dream opportunity to make their mark on AEW’s women’s division.

Do you think AEW needs to launch the women’s tag team titles, or is it too soon for another set of belts? Drop your thoughts in the comments and tell us what you think.
