WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch has dealt with serious legal troubles, including a DUI manslaughter case that changed her life. With that said, it appears that a settlement has been reached in the civil lawsuit related to the case.
As previously reported, a lawsuit filed by the estate of Julian Lasseter, who tragically lost his life in a March 2022 traffic incident involving Tammy “Sunny” Sytch, was scheduled to go to trial on October 7th at The Circuit Court of the Sevenths Judicial Circuit in Volusia County, Florida.
The lawsuit seeks damages in excess of $30,000, alleging that Sytch was intoxicated while driving southbound on N. Yonge Street in Ormond Beach, Florida, when she negligently collided with the rear end of Lasseter’s vehicle near W. Granada Boulevard. This collision allegedly caused severe injuries leading to Lasseter’s death the same day.
The legal action also claims that Sytch’s negligence resulted in significant medical and funeral expenses for the Lasseter family. Furthermore, it asserts that Lasseter’s adult daughter has suffered and continues to suffer from the loss of her father’s companionship, guidance, and mental anguish due to his death.
According to PWInsider, a settlement has been reached in the lawsuit filed by the estate of Julian Lasseter, who died in the March 2022 car accident involving Sytch, her former fiancé James Pente, and Ultimate Motor Cars, LLC. The trial, which was set to begin on March 25, has been canceled by Judge Mary G. Jolley. The case will officially be closed within 30 days once all settlement documents are filed.
On the other hand, Sytch is currently set to be released from the Florida Department of Corrections on 9/23/39, following her sentencing on 11/28/23 to 17 years in prison, along with 8 years of probation. She was transferred from Volusia County Corrections to a prison facility in Ocala, Florida.
This settlement ends the civil case, but the tragedy’s impact on the Lasseter family remains. As Sytch serves her sentence, her wrestling legacy continues to be overshadowed by her legal issues.
