Swerve Strickland may have just let fans in on how much he really makes in All Elite Wrestling — and the number is far higher than what was being thrown around online.
The discussion started when a hypothetical contract graphic began circulating online comparing a fictional AEW deal to a WWE offer. The post suggested that an AEW main event contract could look like a five-year deal worth $600,000 per year, while a WWE deal might pay $1 million annually but place the talent in a mid-card role. The numbers were purely speculative — but Strickland jumped in anyway.
After seeing the post, the AEW star responded directly and made it clear that the $600K figure being discussed didn’t even come close to what he earns. “My main events are like 5x that.”
One fan immediately pushed back on the idea, questioning whether Strickland’s television presence justifies that level of salary. “They’re paying you 3 million a year and you have no influence on ratings??? lol I’m a fan but dam.” Strickland fired right back and told critics to take a closer look at his track record on AEW television. “Do the homework on my last dynamite Main event.”
Strickland signed a major multi-year contract with All Elite Wrestling in 2024, a deal expected to keep him with the company for several years. If his comment is accurate, it suggests AEW is paying premium money to keep him positioned at the top of the card. Whether fans agree with the numbers or not, one thing is clear — Swerve isn’t shy about reminding people where he stands in AEW.
