Steve Maclin gave TNA fans a major scare at Sacrifice — but a new update is bringing some relief after initial fears of a serious injury.

Following the abrupt stoppage of his TNA World Title match against Mike Santana, early reports suggested Maclin may have suffered a concussion after taking a hard superkick. The situation was treated as legitimate from the start, with medical staff quickly stepping in and the match being called off.

Now, according to The Takedown on SI on March 28, 2026, there’s a major update on Maclin’s condition — and it’s far more positive than initially feared. After being evaluated by TNA officials, Maclin was sent to the hospital for further testing as a precaution. However, TNA President Carlos Silva confirmed that Maclin ultimately cleared all tests and was not diagnosed with a concussion.

“The Takedown on SI has learned that after TNA officials evaluated Maclin for a concussion, he was sent to the hospital for further tests. TNA president Carlos Silva told The Takedown that Maclin was not ultimately diagnosed with a concussion, as he cleared all of his tests and was released to go back to his hotel for the night.”

At the same time, there’s still some uncertainty about what comes next. While Maclin avoided a concussion diagnosis, there’s no confirmed timeline yet for when he’ll be cleared to return to the ring.

That leaves a question mark hanging over his immediate future, especially given his position in the TNA World Title picture. Bottom line — what initially looked like a serious injury scare has turned into a best-case scenario for Steve Maclin, but his in-ring return is still up in the air for now.

Do you think TNA should hold off on bringing Maclin back until he’s fully 100%, or should he return as soon as he’s cleared? Drop your thoughts below and let us know.
