Steve Maclin and Deonna Purrazzo have been married for a long time and they’ve experienced a lot of things together. This includes them both taking edibles and the terrifying effects it had on both of them, especially Maclin.

While speaking on the Digital Social Hour podcast, Deonna Purrazzo revealed a story about her husband Steve Maclin when they went to see Criss Angel. Steve Maclin decided to take a 50 milligram edible, and Deonna wasn’t sure that was a good idea for an illusionist show, but he insisted he’d be fine.

About halfway through the performance his head suddenly dropped into his lap, his eyes started closing, and she could see him struggling to take deep breaths. When she checked on him, he said he felt like he was in another dimension and even asked if she was real.

“So, fast forward to literally last night, we’re going to Criss Angel. My husband is like, ‘I have edibles. I’m going to take a 50 milligram edible.’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know if that’s a good idea going to an illusionist show.’ And he’s like, ‘No, I’m going to be fine.’ And we’re literally halfway through the show and all of a sudden he just is like—his head drops into his lap and his eyes are closing and I could see his chest trying to take a deep breath. I was like, ‘Are you okay?’ And he’s like, ‘I feel like I’m in another dimension. Are you real?’ And I was like, ‘I’m totally real.'”

Deonna Purrazzo felt terrible for him because she’d been through something similar before, which actually scared her so much it changed her outlook, she no longer smokes weed or does any kind of drug. She reassured Steve that he was going to be okay and that she was right there with him, real and present.

Deonna Purrazzo kept thinking about how frightening that must have been for him, sitting there in the dark watching a Criss Angel show while dripping with sweat and looking panicked.

At one point she asked if he was going to throw up or if they should leave, but he told her he was okay and so they stayed. Even then, she couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling of whether they should even be there because the whole place felt kind of dark.

“I felt so bad because like, been there, done that, been so terrified of that that it changed my whole perspective. Like, I don’t smoke weed anymore, I don’t do any type of drug anymore. I was like, ‘You’re going to be okay. I’m here for you. I’m real, I promise you.’ But what a scary experience he must have had last night going to a Criss Angel show.

And that’s what I kept thinking—like, my husband’s freaking out, he’s dripping sweat. At one point I asked, ‘Are you gonna throw up? Should we leave?’ And he was like, ‘Babe, I’m good.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, cool.’ But yes, I kept having this like, ‘Should I be here?’ It…yeah, it feels dark in there.”

This comes after Deonna Purrazzo revealed her own terrifying experience with edibles that made her quit weed for good, which is exactly why she felt awful when the same thing happened to her husband and it triggered her. As for Maclin, he probably learned a lesson as well since trying edibles at a Criss Angel show might not be the best idea and we hope he doesn’t do it again.
