“Stone Cold” Steve Austin may be gearing up to crack open more stories on a brand-new season of his podcast—and this time, he’s doing it on his own terms.
Speaking on the January 6, 2026 edition of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, the WWE Hall of Famer confirmed he’s strongly considering bringing back his podcast. This follows a report from Fightful Select, which claimed there’s internal talk within WWE about a Broken Skull Sessions revival on digital platforms.
Austin, however, made it clear that if he does return to podcasting, it won’t be a simple rehash—and it definitely won’t be corporate-controlled.
“I was thinking about it. Man, those episodes were old, because we stopped doing that in 2020. It was a thing where they kept asking me, ‘Hey man, we want you to do this spot.’ There were spots I didn’t want to do—like, no man, I don’t want it to be part of my show. They were like, ‘Well, do you mind if your producer reads it?’ I’m like, well f***, it’s still my show. I don’t like the gimmick.”
He revealed that friction over sponsor spots and show format led to him walking away in 2022 when his contract was nearing its end. But now, with fans constantly asking for a comeback, the Texas Rattlesnake is thinking about firing up the mic again.
“So anyway, my contract was almost up anyway, and I walked away. Things have changed. I still think I would like to do it, because a lot of the time I post some stuff on Instagram and some of the comments are like, ‘Man, bring your podcast back. You don’t have to do interviews—we just like you telling stories.’”
While it’s not a done deal, Austin’s wheels are definitely turning as he feels he doesn’t need to wait any longer. But don’t expect a full-on wrestling podcast—Austin wants something a little more personal and free-flowing.
“So I thought seriously about it, and I might. It’s a nice maybe. But I don’t need to wait any longer—the time is now. I’ve been thinking about it and wondering what I’d talk about. I know, but I don’t want it to be a wrestling podcast just because I came from wrestling. We’ll see.”
Whether he’s rattling off stories from the road or just shooting the breeze, fans clearly want more Stone Cold—and if this update is any sign, they just might get it soon.
