WWE Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin is well known for his love of beer, often cracking open a few cans during his WWE appearances over the years. In fact, he recently revealed the biggest bar tab he ever had, and it was a wild one.
While speaking during a WWE World panel, Steve Austin was asked about the biggest bar tab he ever racked up, given his well-known love for drinking. He recalled a wild night out with Zakk Wylde from Black Label Society at a bar on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. He wasn’t sure if it was a Joe’s Crab Shack or another spot, but he remembered a deer head with small antlers hanging on the wall.
By the end of the night, the deer head had somehow been set on fire. The final bar tab came out to a couple of thousand dollars, and Austin thought they were all going to end up in jail. He had to catch a ride home, calling it a brutal and expensive night.
“Man, we went up—yeah, I remember one time, uh, I was hanging out with Zakk Wylde from Black Label Society and we went to some joint right there on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. It was like a Joe’s Crab Shack or something—I don’t remember what it was. There was a deer head on the wall, a couple, you know, small antlers, and before the night was over we caught the deer’s head on fire. Uh, the total tab getting out the door was a couple of grand. I thought we was all going to jail. I had to catch a ride home. It was a brutal night, and it cost us dearly.”
While “Stone Cold” Steve Austin has had countless unforgettable moments in the ring, this story adds a wild and funny twist to his legacy outside of wrestling. A $2,000 bar tab and a flaming deer head perfectly sum up the kind of wild energy fans expect from him.
Steve Austin’s Riverwalk adventure shows that some of the most legendary stories happen outside the ring. Whether it’s chugging beers or narrowly avoiding arrest, he always makes sure his wild stories grab the attention of fans and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon.
