Stephanie Vaquer cleared up recent rumors about her health after her contract-signing segment with IYO SKY was canceled on the September 8 episode of WWE Raw on Netflix. Many fans thought she might be injured, but Vaquer has now confirmed that isn’t the case.
While speaking in an interview with Adrian Hernandez, Stephanie Vaquer addressed rumors that she was injured and quickly shot them down, saying there are no injuries and she is set for Raw on Monday.
“No—I saw social media. Sometimes—many things are not real. There’s no injuries—I’m ready for Raw next Monday.”
This comes after Dave Meltzer claimed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Vaquer was dealing with a minor injury, which he said led WWE to pull her from the show. Meltzer claimed WWE told him it was “nothing to worry about” and that she would continue wrestling as planned.
“She has a minor injury, that’s the situation. I was told by WWE that it’s a minor thing, it’s nothing to worry about, and she’s gonna be doing matches going forward. It came right from the company.
They weren’t certain about (the severity of the injury on Monday). I heard about it on Tuesday. I asked after she wasn’t there, ‘What’s going on?,’ and they just said, ‘Minor injury, she’s gonna be on the pay-per-view most likely.’”
La Primera is scheduled to face IYO SKY for the vacant WWE Women’s World Championship at Wrestlepalooza. Now that we know Vaquer isn’t injured, we’ll have to wait and see whether she will be able to beat the Genius of the Sky in order to become the new WWE Women’s World Champion.
