Stephanie Vaquer was originally set for the biggest match of her WWE career—a Women’s World Title shot against Naomi at Clash In Paris. But when Naomi announced her pregnancy and vacated the title, everything changed. Now, Vaquer will face IYO Sky instead at Wrestlepalooza on September 20, and she’s seeing the switch as a blessing in disguise.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Vaquer opened up about her scrapped title match with Naomi and how the timing of everything—both personally and professionally—feels meant to be.

“Yeah, everything changed about that. So I’m sad for the match, I’m so happy for Naomi. But everything I think is better because I have more time for training, focused on the next match with IYO.”

Vaquer didn’t hide her respect for her new opponent, either. Facing IYO Sky at WWE Wrestlepalooza, which will stream on ESPN, is now her focus—and she’s ready for it.

“She’s amazing. So versus IYO and ESPN, big show with WWE Wrestlepalooza. So it’s like, amazing. It’s really, really amazing.”

On top of the career shift, the timing couldn’t be more personal. Vaquer revealed the match now falls on a weekend close to her own birthday—and her father will be in the crowd for the first time ever.

“Sometimes everything changes for one reason as my birthday, my dad’s birthday, and he come for first time, watch my match live. So everything is perfect.”

While fans were excited to see her face Naomi, Vaquer isn’t letting the detour derail her. She’s turning the moment into something even more meaningful—both in the ring and in life.
