Stephanie McMahon and Trish Stratus didn’t hold back when they sat down together on What’s Your Story. The WWE icons swapped unfiltered stories from their time in the ring—including wardrobe malfunctions that would’ve broken the internet if social media had been around.
Stephanie recalled one infamous moment during a live segment where she was getting Pedigreed on top of the announce table—until gravity betrayed her gear:
“I was staring at my own naked boobs out there… thank God people didn’t really see because I was all bent over. But if social media [was around]—oh, yeah.”
She said the clip even came up during her Howard Stern appearance alongside Dave Chappelle. Stern’s team tried pulling the footage, but it was too blurry to show anything clearly—and WWE never aired the camera angle again.
It wasn’t an isolated incident. Stephanie brought up another wardrobe scare during her vow renewal storyline with Triple H. After faking a pregnancy and getting slapped mid-promo, she found herself dealing with another wardrobe crisis live on air:
“I see our cameraman at the time, Marty, and he’s like pointing like crazy. And I’m like, ‘Oh my God.’ It was so embarrassing and horrifying… That footage was supposedly burned.”
Trish Stratus joined in with her own disaster from her Unforgiven retirement match. The issue? Her pants wouldn’t stay on. There was no time to adjust, either:
“The pants were just falling off. I had plumber’s crack the entire time… My ass is showing right now… but that’s a live show for you.”
“You just have to leave it… You can’t take the audience out of the moment. If my hip was really hurting that much, I would not care that my ass was hanging out. You’re welcome.”
Stephanie explained how they kept things held together backstage:
“Top Stick is actually used for toupees, and we then applied it with great use… Sometimes you just tape your pants, your shorts.”
And Trish laid it out straight for anyone who thinks wrestling’s just entrance music and finishers:
“Wrestling is hard, guys, okay? But as a woman, we have a lot more to think about. We got things popping out. We got stuff.”
They fought for respect on-screen. Off-screen, they were fighting their gear. So the next time you think wrestling’s all staged and easy, remember these two legends held entire matches together with toupee tape and sheer willpower—while literally trying to keep their clothes on. Boobs out, pants down, and not a single botch in sight. That’s not sports entertainment. That’s survival.
