An NXT star is crossing over to SmackDown tonight — and now we know who it is.

PWInsider reports that Jordynne Grace is backstage in Buffalo, New York, and is set for a segment with Jade Cargill for the January 2, 2026 episode of WWE SmackDown. The footage is expected to air during tonight’s broadcast as the show kicks off its new three-hour format.

Grace is currently part of the NXT roster, making this her first involvement on SmackDown since signing with WWE. While she’s not scheduled to wrestle, her appearance alongside Cargill is a major development and could be a sign of what’s coming next for both women.

Here’s the full confirmed card for tonight’s SmackDown:

  • Chelsea Green (c) vs. Giulia — Women’s United States Championship
  • Damian Priest vs. Aleister Black — Ambulance Match
  • IYO SKY, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. Asuka, Kairi Sane, Nia Jax & Lash Legend — 8-Woman Tag
  • Drew McIntyre reveals stipulations for “Three Stages of Hell” vs. Cody Rhodes
  • Cody Rhodes appearance
  • Pre-taped segment featuring Jade Cargill and Jordynne Grace

WWE clearly isn’t wasting the extra airtime tonight. Whether this segment is a one-off or the start of a bigger storyline, Grace’s presence on SmackDown puts her in front of a new audience — and that alone is worth paying attention to.
