Spoiler On Surprise Return During 8/22 WWE SmackDown

Ireland saw a surprising return this week.

WWE SmackDown took place on Friday, August 22, 2025, in Dublin, Ireland at the 3Arena. The night was full of big moments, including a surprise return.

Aleister Black showed up on SmackDown this week to take on R-Truth. That being said, things didn’t work out as the master of the Black Mass would have hoped. Instead, R-Truth got on the screen and he addressed his would-be opponent. Truth said that he couldn’t make it for the match, but he found someone who really wants to face Black instead. At that point, Damian Priest ran out to beat Aleister Black down and run him off. .

Fans hadn’t seen Damian Priest since he took a brutal chair shot three weeks ago. He’s been sitting at home for three weeks, waiting to get his revenge on Aleister Black, and he was ready in Ireland.

We will have to see what happens next in this situation. R-Truth and Damian Priest are certainly making a good team, a callback from Truth’s brief time as part of the Judgment Day. Only time will tell where they go from here.
