WWE is pulling out all the stops to honor Hulk Hogan following his tragic passing — and now, we know some of the names joining the tribute.
According to PWInsider.com, WWE is bringing in a stacked lineup of wrestling legends for tonight’s special tribute segment. Names confirmed include Gerald Brisco, Brian Blair, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, Jimmy Hart, and “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase — all of whom had deep ties to Hogan throughout his career.
This update follows an earlier report, which noted that WWE had already contacted numerous Hall of Famers and iconic stars to either appear in person at SmackDown or film tribute packages.
“They are looking to honor Hogan heavily,” one WWE source stated.
The tribute comes as heartbreaking new details surface about Hogan’s final days. As reported by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Hogan’s health rapidly declined after neck surgery on May 14, leaving him intubated and suffering from renal failure and severe COPD.
“Basically, what happened with Hulk was they took him out of the hospital and made a hospital in his house as there wasn’t much left they could do,” one source close to the situation told Dave Meltzer.
Emergency services were called to Hogan’s Clearwater home on July 24 for cardiac arrest. He was taken out on a stretcher and later pronounced dead at age 71.
Tonight’s SmackDown is expected to serve as a celebration of Hogan’s impact, with the presence of longtime friends and fellow legends adding an emotional weight to the moment.
