NXT Superstars can’t stick around the developmental brand forever. That being said, the company has many ways of calling up Superstars to the main roster, and Oba Femi has been ready for a while.

The December 19 edition of WWE SmackDown went down at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This was a special night, because they also taped SmackDown for December 26, and we have full spoilers.

During the episode, WWE ran a highlight video hype package for Oba Femi. This kind of attention on the blue brand could be an apparent sign that The Ruler is on his way to the main roster. It remains to be seen how long it will be until he makes that leap, but the groundwork is obviously being set.

Oba Femi and Cody Rhodes just had a great match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The match ended abruptly as Drew McIntyre ruined things. Only time will tell if Oba Femi is on his way to the main roster so he can finish that business.

There are a lot of things that drew our attention from the night. There are a lot of spoilers from next week’s SmackDown already. Joe Hendry made a giant splash as he participated in a Holiday tradition. That isn’t all, because Trick Williams was also there to make a big statement. Fans will also see a title change on the day after Christmas.

What’s your take on Oba Femi coming to the WWE main roster as NXT Champion? Do you think that he will stick around NXT long enough to lose the title? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
