The March 21 episode of WWE SmackDown went down in the Unipol Arena in Bologna, Italy. With WrestleMania coming, there was quite a focus on the showcase of the immortals.

Jacob Fatu took on Braun Strowman this week on SmackDown. That was a big match for the blue brand this week, but there were even more stakes in Italy.

In a backstage segment with LA Knight before the match, Braun Strowman revealed to him that he spoke with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis and that match against Jacob Fatu was a #1 contender match for the US Title. Braun then suggested that he’ll see Knight at WrestleMania, but the match will be on SmackDown next week in London.

Jacob Fatu and Braun Strowman got off to a big start when their match started to close out the first hour of the show. Strowman gained the early advantage as fans cheered him on as the overwhelming babyface.

Eventually, Jacob Fatu got control of the match, and fans had an inventive chant for him. Then Braun Strowman hulked out of Fatu’s rest hold. Tama Tonga eventually got involved, and then Solo Sikoa jumped in the ring to attack Braun Strowman. Then the referee called for the bell and Strowman was declared the winner.

Now Braun Strowman will face LA Knight in London next week on SmackDown, but that wasn’t the way he wanted to go about it. Eventually, LA Knight ran out for the save on Strowman as he fought the new Bloodline. Strowman joined in, and he helped LA Knight send them away. That left Strowman and Knight in a stand-off in the ring.

With WrestleMania 41 coming up in a matter of weeks, April 19 and 20 will be here before we know it. We already got a Mania challenge from Randy Orton this week, so the matches are certainly coming together. Let’s see what they book for the show of shows.
