The upcoming AAA Mega Championship match between Hijo del Vikingo and Dominik Mysterio just got way more personal, as AAA added major stipulations to the bout.
During AAA’s recent set of tapings, which are set to air on February 21, 2026, Hijo del Vikingo and Dominik Mysterio’s contract signing for Rey de Reyes took an explosive turn, and the fallout could reshape AAA entirely. According to Lucha Blog, the segment confirmed that this will be the final title match between the two rivals. But that’s just the start: if Vikingo loses, he’s done chasing the AAA Mega Championship. If Dominik loses? He’s out of AAA completely.
“The Vikingo/Dominik contract signing basically set it as this will be the last title match between them. Vikingo will not get another shot if he loses. Dominik will have to leave AAA if he loses the title.”
And Vikingo didn’t stop there. In a big twist, he aired a video attacking Mini Vikingo in a hospital—a savage homage to the infamous Steve Austin/Vince McMahon hospital ambush. Dressed as a doctor, Vikingo was shown assaulting Mini Vikingo in footage that left the live crowd shocked.
Meanwhile, the segment also featured Grande Americano confronting El Ojo. In a chaotic moment, the original Grande Americano attacked, while Dominik—surprisingly—did not step in to help.
This comes after Vikingo’s challenge on the February 7 episode, when he proposed that Dominik put his hair on the line—a classic lucha libre stipulation symbolizing honor and humiliation. Now, with both men’s futures on the line, Rey de Reyes isn’t just a title match—it’s a make-or-break moment.
