WWE RAW just got a major international twist—and fans in Philly better pay attention.
Fightful Español confirmed that AAA standouts Mr. Iguana and reigning AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo are in Philadelphia ahead of tonight’s August 18 episode of WWE Monday Night RAW. Both wrestled at TripleManía over the weekend and still made it to town early Monday, setting the stage for a cross-promotional spectacle.
While Mr. Iguana is expected to appear sporadically on WWE programming, Vikingo’s role is much more involved. Sources say he’ll continue his rivalry with Dominik Mysterio, with the feud “expected to carry over into Worlds Collide.”
WWE has reportedly been thrilled with Mr. Iguana’s performances. According to one source, “there will be semi-regular integration of AAA talent across much of WWE programming.”
This development ties into the larger WWE-AAA partnership, which took a big step forward at TripleManía with cross-promotional matches involving Dominik Mysterio, Natalya, and others. Now, the influence of lucha libre is stretching into Monday nights—and Vikingo isn’t coming quietly.
The rest of tonight’s RAW includes Roman Reigns seeking revenge on The Vision, Naomi finally addressing her missed title match, Becky Lynch defending the Women’s Intercontinental Title against Natalya, and other major bouts featuring Jey Uso, IYO SKY, and Penta. With AAA stars now part of the mix, RAW is getting unpredictable in the best way.
Ringside News will be providing live play-by-play coverage of this week’s show over in our WWE Monday Night RAW coverage hub. It promises to be a memorable episode for many reasons, so it remains to be seen how the episode will turn out.
