Drew McIntyre is officially back.

After being spotted backstage earlier in the day, the former WWE Champion made his return during the opening segment with Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton at tonight’s SmackDown tapings, from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

McIntyre’s return comes just weeks after his brutal Steel Cage Match against Damian Priest at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24, where he was left motionless in the ring following a vicious Con-Chair-To. The Scottish Warrior has been off television ever since, recovering from lingering injuries.

During a recent interview with the Orlando Sentinel, McIntyre admitted his recovery has been slow, explaining, “I can’t turn my head all the way left yet,” but it looks like he’s healthy enough to be back in the mix.

Earlier today, sources confirmed McIntyre had been backstage all night, mingling with the locker room and staff ahead of RAW and SmackDown tapings. Fans immediately started speculating that a return could be happening, and WWE wasted no time delivering.

The tapings are still ongoing, and we’ll keep you posted on everything else happening during tonight’s stacked shows.
