Mark Davis is officially back. After suffering a broken wrist during Aussie Open’s brutal tag team title match against FTR at AEW WrestleDream,

Davis made his surprise return at the AEW Collision taping on October 8, which will air on October 11. But his comeback wasn’t exactly a quiet one—Kenny Omega made sure of that.

Following Josh Alexander’s win over Kota Ibushi, Omega stormed the ring and blasted Alexander with a v-trigger. But he didn’t stop there. Omega then spotted Mark Davis outside the ring and hurled a trash can directly at him, welcoming Davis back to AEW in the most chaotic way possible.

Davis hadn’t been seen since snapping his wrist in early October 2023, a moment he confirmed himself in a post-match tweet at the time. He joked about the situation then, writing, “sometimes you win ’em, sometimes you snap your wrist.” The comeback now brings Aussie Open back to full strength, just as AEW heats up with cross-promotional action across all its brands.

Unfortunately, the night took a serious turn when Kota Ibushi suffered a bad spill and had to be stretchered out of Daily’s Place. The lights in the arena were dimmed, and AEW President Tony Khan personally came out to thank the fans for being respectful during the delay.

Still, the return of Mark Davis is big news for AEW’s tag division, especially if Aussie Open is ready to re-enter the chase for gold. Whether or not that trash can was a one-off or the start of something with Omega remains to be seen.
