AEW fans speculating about Jeff Jarrett’s future in the main event scene can pump the brakes—there are no plans to put the AEW World Championship on Double J. Despite his ongoing feud with MJF and some heated exchanges on Dynamite, the idea of Jarrett walking into All In Texas as the top champion just isn’t in the cards.
On the Fightful Select Backstage Report podcast, Sean Ross Sapp shut down the idea when asked if AEW had long-term plans to crown Jarrett as world champion. “No. There are no creative plans to put the AEW World Heavyweight title on Jeff Jarrett,” Sapp confirmed.
Jarrett has been stirring things up on Dynamite, most recently in a tense promo segment where MJF accused him of using his friendship with Owen Hart to stay relevant. The comment set Jarrett off, leading to a heated brawl that left fans talking. While the storyline has plenty of steam, AEW isn’t looking to put the world title in Jarrett’s hands anytime soon.
Still, in wrestling, plans can change in an instant—so who knows what the future holds for Double J? Do you think Jarrett deserves one last title run, or should AEW focus on younger talent? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
