Drew McIntyre might not be on TV just yet — but he’s definitely around.

The former WWE Champion was spotted backstage at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh during tonight’s June 30, 2025 tapings of Monday Night RAW and SmackDown. Sources have confirmed McIntyre has been in plain sight all night, mingling with the roster and staff ahead of the double taping.

While there’s still no confirmation on whether McIntyre will appear on camera, the fact that he isn’t being hidden from the rest of the locker room has people talking. Typically, when a big return is planned, WWE keeps that Superstar tucked away from prying eyes. That hasn’t been the case with McIntyre tonight.

This comes after recent reports, where it was revealed that there are currently “no plans” for McIntyre’s TV return. The Scottish Warrior has been off programming since his brutal Steel Cage Match against Damian Priest at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24, where he was left motionless in the ring after a vicious Con-Chair-To.

McIntyre later admitted during an interview with the Orlando Sentinel that he’s still recovering from lingering injuries, saying, “I can’t turn my head all the way left yet.” He also explained that this time, he’s not rushing back until his body is ready.

Despite being off television, McIntyre’s presence backstage in Pittsburgh has sparked obvious speculation about his status. Whether this is a sign of an imminent return or simply him checking in with the company remains to be seen.
