Sonya Deville has officially revealed what’s next for her after WWE—and she’s embracing a brand-new chapter that has nothing to do with wrestling. The former WWE star says her release from the company gave her the push to chase her true passion: acting.
During her appearance on Identity Crisis with CJ Perry, Sonya opened up about life after WWE, feeling more fulfilled than ever, and completely focused on breaking into Hollywood.
“I don’t—I can’t regret anything, because I’m so obsessed with my life. Like, I really love life. That’s the phase I’m in right now. I love what I do. I’m so happy. I feel fulfilled and I’m so proud of what I’ve done.”
She explained that after her WWE contract wasn’t renewed, she refused to see it as a setback—and instead took it as a sign to start something new.
“With even like getting released or, you know, not getting my contract renewed, it was very quickly a feeling of like, ‘Ooh, what’s next?’ And not because I wanted to leave—I didn’t. But the universe had made that decision for me. I was no longer in control.”
Instead of staying bitter, Sonya said she immediately saw opportunity in front of her.
“So quickly I was like, ‘Oh, well, what does the universe have in store? ’Cause it must be amazing.’ Because we can only go up from here.”
Her focus now is acting full-time—a dream she says she’s chased for years but can finally give her full energy to.
“I’ve wanted to be an actress my entire life. And now that’s what I’ve honed and worked on for 10 years in WWE in some sort of facet… and now I get to just go do that.”
“I mean, probably 500 [auditions] in the last year. But in the last four months since I called my manager and said, ‘Yo, we’re going full time,’ it’s constant.”
Sonya also talked about how therapy grounded her during this transition, helping her stay focused and optimistic as she builds her post-WWE identity.
Sonya Deville’s next chapter is already in motion, mentally sharp, and chasing a career she’s always wanted. WWE may be behind her, but Hollywood might just be where she truly belongs.
