Sol Ruca currently holds both the NXT Women’s North American Title as well as the WWE Women’s Speed title, but the future of the Speed title is currently uncertain. While the uncertainty continues, Ruca has now addressed the title’s future.

While speaking to Ten Count Media, Sol Ruca was asked if she is the current Speed Champion or the last Speed Champion, and where the title stands now. She explained that with both the Speed Championship and the North American Championship, there is some confusion about the situation. She admitted she doesn’t really have a clear answer, but until she’s told otherwise, she still considers herself a double champion.

Ruca mentioned that the Speed Title might start being featured on NXT. In the past, she wasn’t allowed to wear it there because it was seen as part of a separate brand, but now there seems to be some flexibility. At the moment, she said things are still being figured out, but for now she remains a double champion and is not complaining about it.

“You know, the Speed Champion and the North American Champion. I know there’s a little confusion about what’s going on, and honestly, I don’t really have an answer either. But until they tell me I’m no longer a double champion, I’m still a double champion.

Maybe we’ll start doing stuff with it on NXT. I mean, I was starting to wear it on NXT, which before wasn’t allowed because it was technically a separate universe being on X. But I think there was a little bit of leeway, and now we’re just trying to figure out what we want to do with it. As of now, though, I’m still technically a double champion — so I’m not complaining.”

This comes after WWE hadn’t taped new episodes in weeks, and the Speed Championship quietly disappeared from television. WWE appears to be done with the Speed Title right now, but Sol Ruca still considers herself the Speed Champion unless told otherwise.

As WWE decides what to do with the Women’s Speed Championship, Sol Ruca is still embracing her position as a double champion for now. Whether the title ends up being featured on NXT again or quietly phased out, Ruca will continue to be a big star no matter what.
