Westside Gunn’s messy split with WWE isn’t going away — and now Smoke DZA is jumping in with a strong reaction after all the details came out.

Appearing on the Kings of the Ring podcast on March 27, 2026, the 4th Rope Wrestling co-founder immediately made it clear he didn’t agree with how the situation played out — backing Gunn from the jump.

“I hated it. I mean, it’s no secret, you know what I mean? It’s one band, one sound. So obviously, I’m rolling with my brother. I didn’t like it. I mean, I’m glad it didn’t go completely left and he was able to leave on his own merit, you know what I mean?”

Smoke DZA didn’t stop there — he zeroed in on the money and how fast everything escalated, calling out the situation as outright unacceptable. And for him, that was a deal-breaker.

“But the fact that you could pay ,000 for a seat and be ousted out of the event before it even starts and not get your money back — that’s craziness. I think that’s a little crazy. No money back is nuts. But outside of that, outside of how he was handled, I would never ever stand by that.”

Gunn previously claimed he was removed from a RAW taping in Buffalo just minutes after the show began — despite spending over $5,000 on tickets, travel, and accommodations in his hometown. He framed the situation as more than just a bad experience, pointing to years of supporting WWE and helping bring attention to the product through his platform.

“RAW starts at 8pm and I was kicked out by 8:03 after spending ,000 for a seat, plus travel, hotel, everything… in my own city, for no reason. It broke my heart. For years, nobody has spent the amount of money I have supporting and promoting a brand I’ve loved since I was a kid. I made people who hated the product start watching again. I made it look cool when people thought it was nerdy.”

Behind the scenes, reports suggested WWE had issues with Gunn prior to the incident. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, those concerns included his use of a photo featuring Ted DiBiase and Virgil without clearance, along with posts from his crew saying they were bored and falling asleep during SummerSlam while sitting in a suite.

Now, with DZA stepping in publicly, the fallout is no longer just between Gunn and WWE — it’s turning into a wider conversation about how the company handles artists who actively support the brand.

Do you think WWE was justified based on the reported issues, or did they go too far in how they handled Westside Gunn? Drop your thoughts and feedback below.
