Skye Blue is opening up about how the Speaking Out movement didn’t just shake the wrestling world — it had a real impact inside AEW as well.

Back in 2020, the Speaking Out movement forced the industry to confront serious allegations of abuse and misconduct, leading to major changes across multiple promotions. According to Blue, that shift carried into AEW’s locker room, where the culture has evolved in a noticeable way.

Speaking to Daily Star, Blue explained that the biggest difference she’s seen is how women now carry themselves — with far more confidence and willingness to speak up when something isn’t right.

“I think women definitely stand up for themselves more. I think with older mindsets, everybody felt like you couldn’t stand up for yourself, you couldn’t speak up when you needed to.”

She pointed to a clear contrast with the past, where staying quiet was often the expectation — something she believes has changed within AEW following the movement.

“But now I feel like women have the opportunity to really be themselves and not be afraid to speak up or shy away from anything.”

For Blue, the impact inside AEW goes beyond just speaking out — it’s about growth, equality, and creating an environment where women feel just as free to enjoy the business as their male counterparts.

“And yeah, I think we all just used that opportunity to grow and push ourselves, because we just want to wrestle and do exactly what the men do — have fun doing what we all fell in love with.”

Her comments make it clear that the ripple effects of the Speaking Out movement are still being felt — especially in AEW, where the locker room culture has shifted toward openness and accountability.

Do you think AEW has done enough to create a better environment after the Speaking Out movement, or is there still more that needs to change? Drop your thoughts below and let us know.
